Job summary

BAM Infrastructure seeks a Senior Environmental Sustainability Advisor to drive EMS across energy projects in Scotland and the North of England. You will champion low carbon construction, biodiversity, zero waste and pollution management, acting as the go-to expert on environmental matters.

Based in Kilsyth or Newcastle, you will lead stakeholder engagement, provide training, and report on environmental performance to the Environmental Sustainability Business Partner Energy Networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an environmental role (preferably construction).
• Environmental Management qualification or degree.
• Member of ISEP or similar professional body.
• Working towards Full Member and/or Chartered Environmentalist.
• Experience training, coaching and mentoring environment staff.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project-specific environmental documentation & records.
• Support EMS implementation and delivery to project level and customer requirements.
• Investigate environmental incidents and advise on actions.
• Contribute to internal environmental sustainability training.
• Develop relationships with regulators and supply chain specialists.
• Attend project progress meetings and report on environmental issues.
• Promote best practice and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
