Natural Resources Wales is seeking a Senior Industry and Waste Regulation Officer to regulate a diverse portfolio of sites across Wales, including COMAH and radioactive substances. You will inspect sites, advise operators, and take proportionate enforcement action to improve environmental performance.

The role requires experience in environmental regulation, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, and a commitment to high standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience in either working in a regulated industry or as a regulator.
• Good understanding of commercial business processes and pressures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public.

Responsabilités

• Assess compliance at installations, COMAH sites, waste sites and sites handling radioactive substances.
• Lead and participate in enforcement where appropriate to return operators to compliance.
• Coordinate pre-application discussions with operators and permitting teams to aid timely permit variations.
