Job summary

Natural Resources Wales is seeking a Senior Industry & Waste Regulation Officer to regulate major industrial and waste sites across Wales. You will assess compliance, drive environmental improvements, respond to incidents and influence industry standards, while building relationships with operators and delivering real environmental outcomes.

The role requires experience in environmental regulation or a regulated industry, strong knowledge of environmental legislation, and excellent communication

Ready for a role where no two days are the same? Join Natural Resources Wales as a Senior Industry & Waste Regulation Officer and help protect Wales' environment while working across some of the country's most complex and high-profile industrial and waste sites.

From landfill and waste treatment facilities to power generation, chemicals, manufacturing and COMAH-regulated sites, you'll use your expertise to assess compliance, drive environmental improvements, respond to incidents and influence industry standards. You'll work independently and as part of a supportive team, building relationships with operators and delivering real environmental outcomes.

We're looking for experienced professionals with a background in environmental regulation or a regulated industry, strong knowledge of environmental legislation, and excellent communication and influencing skills.

Salary: £42,662 rising to £46,662 per annum

Location: North East Wales (Buckley office base with site visits across North and Mid Wales)
