Job Description

Join our established Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, comprising over 165 staff across the UK and Ireland. We are committed to high standards, evidenced by our IEMA EIA Quality Mark accreditation, and aligned with our ESG strategy.

We offer flexible office locations across the UK including Basingstoke, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, St Albans, and Warrington, with a hybrid working model.

This role involves working on large-scale development projects such as energy generation (including renewables and carbon capture), transmission, rail, highway, regeneration, port developments, and sectors like ecommerce, minerals, water, defense, aviation, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Expertise: Coordinate environmental inputs for EIA reports, environmental statements, and related documents across all project stages, including early strategy, site identification, feasibility, design, discharging conditions, construction, and operation.
  • Ensure Quality: Maintain high standards for deliverables with attention to detail.
  • Project Management: Develop skills in resource and budget coordination.
  • Collaborate: Work within integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify impact mitigation, and explore benefits.
  • Client Contact: Engage directly with clients and internal teams.
  • Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services, support business development, and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant environmental degree (preferably Masters) and professional membership.
  • Experience in EIA consultancy, including report preparation and technical review.
  • Understanding of relevant consenting regimes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.
  • Developing project management skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth and innovation.
  • Experience with DCO/TWAO regimes is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills for technical review and stakeholder engagement.
