Job Description

Join our established Environmental Impact (EIA) team, which comprises over 165 staff across the UK and Ireland. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, aligning with our ESG strategy.

We are flexible regarding office location within the UK, including offices in Basingstoke, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, St Albans, Warrington, and our hybrid working model.

This role involves working on large-scale development projects across sectors such as energy, transportation, regeneration, ecommerce, minerals, waste, water, defense, aviation, and more. Projects include:

  • Energy generation (solar, offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture)
  • Energy distribution and transmission
  • Carbon capture pipelines
  • National and regional rail projects
  • Highways and greenway projects
  • Port developments
  • Various industrial and commercial developments
Responsibilities
  • Provide Expertise: Coordinate environmental inputs for EIA reports, assessments, and supporting documents across all project stages, including early strategy, feasibility, design, and operation.
  • Ensure Quality: Maintain high standards in all deliverables with attention to detail.
  • Project Management: Develop skills in resource and budget coordination.
  • Collaborate: Work with design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify constraints, and develop mitigation solutions.
  • Client Contact: Engage directly with clients and internal teams.
  • Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services and support business development.
Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Masters preferred) and professional membership.
  • Experience in EIA consultancy, report preparation, and technical review.
  • Understanding of consenting regimes.
  • Teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Project management development and professional growth commitment.
  • Experience with DCO or TWAO regimes is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and report writing skills.
