Job Description

By joining us, you will work daily with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact (EIA) team, comprising over 165 staff across the UK and Ireland. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, aligning all our work with our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy.

We are a national team with flexible office locations including Basingstoke, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, St Albans, Warrington, and we offer a hybrid working model.

Our projects include:

  • Energy generation, including carbon capture, hydrogen, and renewables
  • Energy distribution and transmission projects
  • Carbon capture pipelines
  • Strategic rail projects
  • Highway improvements and greenway projects
  • Portside regeneration developments
  • Developments in ecommerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, and residential sectors
Responsibilities
  • Provide Expertise: Coordinate environmental inputs for EIA reports, assessments, and supporting documents across all project stages, including technical review of specialist chapters.
  • Ensure Quality: Maintain high-quality standards in all deliverables.
  • Project Management: Develop project management skills by coordinating resources and budgets.
  • Collaborate: Work within integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify constraints, and develop impact mitigation solutions.
  • Client Contact: Engage directly with clients and internal teams.
  • Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services and support business development activities.

Qualifications
  • A relevant environmental degree (Masters preferred) and professional membership.
  • Experience in EIA consultancy, including report coordination and technical review.
  • Understanding of consenting regimes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.
  • Developing project management skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and innovation.
  • Experience with DCO and TWAO regimes is a plus.
