Job summary

Green Folk in Exeter is seeking a Senior EHS Coordinator to lead environment, health and safety initiatives at our facility. The role drives compliance with UK and European legislation and company standards, reporting on ESG data and supporting audits.

You will maintain COSHH systems, manage environmental permits, and engage with regulators and contractors, ensuring safe operations and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering/manufacturing environments.
• NEBOSH Certificate.
• Knowledge of UK/European health and safety laws.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site compliance with UK legislation and company standards.
• Assist with environmental permit, waste management, ESG reporting.
• Support internal and external audits including corporate audits.
• Maintain COSHH systems and advise site staff.
• Lead/participate in site emergency team activities.
• Engage with contractors, regulators, enforcement agencies.
• Maintain H&S Legal Register and conduct risk assessments.

Senior EHS Coordinator

8am – 4pm Monday to Friday

£50,000 to £55,000 PA with bonus OTE up to £57,500 PA

Exeter

Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Exeter and due to ongoing growth of the business they need a Senior EHS Coordinator to join the team. The ideal candidate will be someone who’s enthusiastic about taking on a challenging but rewarding role whilst ensuring the facility is compliant with both UK and European legislation and company standards for environment, health, and safety.

Requirements

• Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing background
• NEBOSH Certificate
• A proven EHS professional able to communicate, work, and influence effectively and efficiently at all levels of the business.
• Good working knowledge of UK and European environment health, and safety legislation

Key Duties

• Ensuring the facility is fully compliant with both UK legislation and company standards for environment, health, and safety.
• Support EHS Manager with maintenance of environmental permit, waste management program and collation and reporting of ESG data
• Assist with internal and external auditing processes, including support for internal corporate audits.
• Assist with maintaining COSHH systems and give support and guidance to site team members
• Active member of site emergency team, giving leadership and onsite attendance where required.
• Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies.
• Maintenance of H&S Legal Register
• Conduct regular site inspections, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions
• Complete and review risk assessments and safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation and company standards
