Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Exeter is seeking a Senior EHS Coordinator to ensure the site complies with UK and European environment, health and safety legislation and company standards. The role runs 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will have NEBOSH, engineering/manufacturing experience, and the ability to influence at all levels. You will support permits, waste management, ESG reporting, audits, COSHH, and site emergency leadership.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate required.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Strong ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
• Knowledge of UK and European EH&S legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK legislation and company EH&S standards.
• Support EHS Manager with environmental permits, waste management and ESG data reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audits and corporate audits.
• Maintain COSHH systems and provide guidance to site teams.
• Lead and participate in site emergency team activities.
• Engage with contractors, regulators and enforcement agencies.
• Maintain H&S legal register.
• Conduct site inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Complete and review risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Senior EHS Coordinator
8am - 4pm Monday to Friday
£50,000 to £65,000 per annum

Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Exeter and due to ongoing growth of the business they need a Senior EHS Coordinator to join the team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is enthusiastic about taking on a challenging but rewarding role whilst ensuring the facility is compliant with both UK and European legislation and company standards for environment, health, and safety.

Requirements needed for this position:

• Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing background
• NEBOSH Certificate
• A proven EHS professional able to communicate, work, and influence effectively and efficiently at all levels of the business.
• Good working knowledge of UK and European environment health, and safety legislation

Key Duties

• Ensuring the facility is fully compliant with both UK legislation and company standards for environment, health, and safety.
• Support EHS Manager with maintenance of environmental permit, waste management program and collation and reporting of ESG data
• Assist with internal and external auditing processes, including support for internal corporate audits.
• Assist with maintaining COSHH systems and give support and guidance to site team members
• Active member of site emergency team, giving leadership and onsite attendance where required.
• Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies.
• Maintenance of H&S Legal Register
• Conduct regular site inspections, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions
• Complete and review risk assessments and safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation and company standards
