Job summary

Superstructures, part of the Zenon Group, is expanding its UK Geotechnical and Environmental Services division and seeks a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead contaminated land assessments, ground investigations, and remediation strategies for diverse projects across the UK.

You will deliver high-quality technical reports, manage projects from scoping to completion, mentor junior staff, and build strong client relationships while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe, efficient field

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.
• Experience in contaminated land assessment and ground investigation.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and risk assessment methods.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, and client expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness and business development interest.
• Mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead contaminated land assessments and Phase I/II studies.
• Plan and oversee ground investigations including boreholes and sampling.
• Prepare and review technical reports ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Manage environmental projects from scoping to completion.
• Contribute to Flood Risk & drainage related tasks.
• Develop client relationships and identify opportunities.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supply chain.
• Support team development and continuous improvement.
