Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Lancashire team, supporting major infrastructure and construction projects. You will ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and consents while guiding project teams and contractors on site.

Key duties include ecological surveys, on-site environmental guidance, reporting, and driving improvements in environmental performance across projects.

Qualifications

Experience in environmental management on construction sites.
Knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to construction.
Experience with environmental/ecological fieldwork and habitat supervision.
Familiarity with EMS systems, ISO 14001:2015.
CDM Regulations understanding would be desirable.
Degree or equivalent in environmental, engineering or science discipline.
Full UK or EU driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Perform site supervision and environmental compliance inspections.
Provide ecological advice and conduct surveys on site.
Prepare environmental reports, records and monitoring documentation.
Monitor environmental performance and support improvement initiatives.
Support audits, compliance checks and EMS updates.
Coordinate deliverables and liaise with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
