Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Environment Advisor to provide environmental leadership across Thames Water major projects in Twickenham and Surrey. This site-based role supports up to five projects, collaborating with the SHE Team from design through construction to handover.

You will drive environmental sustainability, ensure compliance with legislation, obtain permits, and report on sustainability performance, with travel between sites and a Full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental roles across pre-construction and live projects.
• ISEP Practitioner membership or Chartered Environmentalist status with ISO 14001 Internal auditor qualification.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation, licences and consents.

Responsibilities

• Review pre-construction information to evaluate environmental risks and opportunities, communicating findings to project teams.
• Assist project teams with obtaining authorisations, permits, licences and consents, engaging with regulatory bodies.
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits, lead incident investigations, and develop learning outcomes.
• Collate and report sustainability information against objectives, maintain databases and produce case studies.
• Chair sustainability meetings with operational staff and support the supply chain to maintain strong environmental performance.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Environment Advisor to join our Thames Water team covering major projects inTwickenham and Surrey.

Location: Mogden, Twickenham and Wisley / Hogsmill, Surrey
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to be the environmental lead, providing expert guidance and support to project delivery teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring environmental legal compliance while supporting the delivery of Thames Water projects and our Building for a Sustainable World Framework. This site-based role will see you supporting up to five projects, working closely with the SHE Team from design through construction to project handover.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Environment Advisor, you'll be working within the environmental team, supporting them in driving environmental sustainability across our projects. Your day to day will include:

• Reviewing pre-construction information to evaluate environmental risks and opportunities, communicating findings to project teams
• Supporting project teams with obtaining authorisations, permits, licences and consents, engaging with regulatory bodies
• Conducting environmental inspections and audits, leading incident investigations and developing learning outcomes
• Collating and reporting sustainability information against agreed objectives, maintaining databases and producing case studies
• Chairing sustainability meetings with operational staff and supporting the supply chain to maintain strong environmental performance

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Environment Advisor is great for you if:

• You have a passion for environmental sustainability and demonstrable experience working in environmental roles across pre-construction and live projects
• You hold Full ISEP Practitioner membership or Chartered Environmentalist status, with ISO 14001 Internal auditor qualification
• You have a strong understanding of environmental legislation, licences and consents, plus experience with environmental management systems
• You possess a Full driving licence and can travel to and between sites
• You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
