Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Senior Environment Advisor to lead environmental compliance on Thames Water projects, spanning Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire with up to five active sites.

This site-based role reports to the Environmental lead and collaborates with design through handover teams to support sustainable delivery. You will review information, obtain permits, conduct audits, and drive the sustainability agenda, requiring membership or status as Chartered Environmentalist and a valid

Qualifications

• Passion for environmental sustainability with strong understanding of environmental legislation, licences and consents.
• ISEP Practitioner membership or Chartered Environmentalist status.
• Proven experience in environmental roles across pre-construction and live projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Review pre-construction information to evaluate environmental risks and opportunities, communicating findings to project teams.
• Support project teams with obtaining permits, licences, and consents, engaging with regulatory bodies.
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits, lead incident investigations and develop learning outcomes.
• Collate sustainability data and report progress against objectives, producing case studies and best practice examples.
• Lead training initiatives and chair meetings to drive the sustainability agenda across the business.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Environment Advisor to join our Thames Water projects team covering major projects in Bedfordshire. Location: covering Easy Hyde, Bedfordshire and Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As our Environmental lead, you'll provide expert guidance and support to project delivery teams, ensuring environmental legal compliance while supporting the delivery of Thames Water projects and the Kier Building for a Sustainable World Framework. This is a site-based role where you'll work closely with project teams from design through to handover, supporting up to 5 projects across the region.

What will you be responsible for?

• Reviewing pre-construction information to evaluate environmental risks and opportunities, communicating findings to project teams
