Job summary

Dounreay is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to provide expert support across the site, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and driving best practice within a highly regulated decommissioning programme.

Join Dounreay as a Senior Environmental Advisor and play a key role in supporting environmental compliance, sustainability and continuous improvement across a major nuclear decommissioning site. Working closely with project teams, operational facilities and regulators, you'll provide expert environmental advice, help drive best practice and contribute to the successful delivery of Dounreay's environmental strategy in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Are you an experienced Environmental professional looking for an opportunity to influence environmental performance within a highly regulated and complex operational environment? Would you like to play a key role in supporting one of the UK's most significant nuclear decommissioning sites while helping to drive compliance, continuous improvement and environmental excellence?

Dounreay is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to provide expert advice and support across site projects and facilities. Working with internal teams, regulators and key stakeholders, you will help ensure environmental compliance, support the site's environmental strategy and contribute to the delivery of important environmental objectives.

What will you be doing

As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will provide technical environmental support across the Dounreay site, ensuring compliance with legislation and environmental management requirements. You will work closely with project and facility teams, regulators and stakeholders to promote best practice and support continuous improvement.

Who are we looking for

We're looking for a proactive environmental professional with strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance within a regulated environment. You will be confident engaging with stakeholders, providing technical guidance and supporting environmental improvement initiatives.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A degree in Environmental Studies or an equivalent qualification, supported by relevant experience.
  • Experience providing environmental advice and support in a regulated industry.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to interpret legislation and apply environmental standards effectively.
