United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited seeks a Senior Environmental Adviser to support environmental controls and mitigations on a major transmission project in the Scottish Highlands. Based in Alness, the role splits between the Site Office and worksites, guiding environmental contractors and ensuring compliance with legal, client and UIPT&G requirements.
You will operate within the HSESQ team under the Environmental Lead, helping develop training, inspections, RAMS reviews, and incident
As the UK transitions towards a low-carbon energy system under the Government's Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, resilient and flexible electricity infrastructure is critical. United Infrastructure supports this transition by delivering fully integrated power infrastructure solutions across transmission and distribution networks. As an Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we deliver end-to-end design, construction, and maintenance of electrical networks up to 400kV.
What are we looking for: As part of our services, the Power Transmission & Distribution (UIPT&D) services are seeking a Senior Environmental Adviser to support the environmental controls and mitigations in the delivery of a significant project to our client. Based in Alness, Scotland, the project to construct and install energy transmission infrastructure covers approximately 80km of the Scottish Highlands between Loch Buidhe to Beauly. The successful candidate, as well as receiving an industry competitive benefits package will encounter and support the environmental protection and sustainability of almost every species of Scottish flora and fauna to be found across the project landscape, forests and waterways from Eagles and Osprey, Wildcat and Badgers to Greater Crested Newts, adders and Water Voles.
Reporting to the Environmental Lead, the role forms part of the Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality (HSESQ) team in providing technical support and practical guidance to the project teams. The role provides an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the project with consideration of the environmental controls, mitigations and responsibilities in line with the legal, company, client and other stakeholder’s requirements and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their knowledge, skills and experience within the role and will be supported in their development to achieve career growth within the project team and wider UIPT&D HSESQ team as opportunities present themselves across the UK.
Operating and administrating from the main site office in Alness, the role splits their time between the Site Office and the project worksites monitoring and advising the worksite activities and working with other environmental technical contractors to ensure the minimal impact to the environment is always at the forefront of our operations.
