Job summary

SEPA is recruiting three full-time Senior Environment Protection Officers to join our Compliance Function. You’ll supervise a team, lead on enforcement actions, and advise on regulatory matters across Falkirk, Alloa, Stirling, Perth, Glasgow Central and Lanarkshire regions.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience or qualification equivalent to SCQF Level 8-10.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pollution control, event response, compliance, and enforcement.
• Strong planning and organisational skills; ability to spot problems and risks.
• Great people skills; ability to develop and coach officers and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and supervise work for a team and monitor quality to ensure excellent service.
• Lead on more contentious, complex, or sensitive enforcement actions as needed.
• Provide regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders and justify proposals.
• Promote values, create a positive culture, and support staff wellbeing.
