Job summary

Rathbones is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to shape technology direction and translate business strategy into coherent architectures. You will connect business capabilities, programmes and technology domains to ensure change is aligned and reuse is maximised.

You will lead governance, define strategic roadmaps and guide delivery across cloud, data, security and engineering practices, influencing senior stakeholders with clear, evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience shaping target architectures and roadmaps across multiple domains.
• Ability to define practical standards and reusable patterns.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders with data-driven trade-offs.
• Experience in regulated financial services or wealth management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve enterprise target and transitional architectures across business capabilities, applications, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, security and engineering.
• Translate business and technology strategy into clear architectural priorities and roadmaps guiding investment and delivery.
• Shape major programmes and cross-cutting initiatives from discovery onwards with coherent end-to-end outcomes.
• Assess when to enhance, reuse, consolidate or retire existing technology and identify new investment needs.
• Define and maintain enterprise principles, standards, reference architectures and approved patterns.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Platform, Cloud, Data, Cyber Security and Service teams to shape strategic platforms and guardrails.
• Clarify architectural ownership and decision boundaries across teams and delivery.
• Drive rationalisation of duplicated capabilities, overlapping tools and legacy tech with transition plans.
