Job summary

Trainline, a leading European rail platform, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, IT Solutions, to lead multiple engineering teams and drive end-to-end delivery of white label and DPAYG products. You will partner with Product, Data, and Commercial teams to align technical work with revenue and strategic goals.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with distributed systems, and a track record of growing leaders in a B2B environment. Hybrid work model with office presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex, multi-team initiatives in a B2B or platform environment.
• Strong track record of building high-performing teams and growing future leaders.
• Ability to coordinate across technical, product, and commercial domains to deliver business impact.
• Experience with distributed systems or microservices architectures.
• Experience managing managers or leading multiple teams (a plus).
• Understanding of the UK rail industry or travel distribution platforms is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams, coaching and performance management.
• Own end-to-end delivery across white label and DPAYG products, driving measurable impact.
• Define roadmaps with Product, Data, and Commercial to align delivery with revenue goals.
• Provide technical leadership across IT Solutions, clarifying system interactions and data flows.
• Drive alignment across cross-team dependencies and ensure transparent execution.
• Champion engineering best practices for scalable, resilient systems.
• Oversee operations with strong technical health, monitoring, and incident management.
