Trainline is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Customer Growth team in the UK. You will lead a cross-functional engineering group, partner with product and data, and own the team roadmap, balancing commercial priorities with engineering quality.

You will champion high standards, embed data-driven decision making and AB testing, and guide a mixed team of permanent staff and contractors while growing engineering talent in a fast-paced, product-led environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an engineering manager leading software teams.
• Strong people management skills and ability to foster psychological safety.
• Experience shaping and delivering roadmaps with product and data partners.
• Evidence of data-driven product development, AB testing and experimentation.

• Advocate for AI tooling and integrate it into engineering workflows.
• Remove blockers, manage dependencies, and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Build hiring, onboarding, and career development practices to grow talent.
