Job summary

Plentific in London is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the product engineering organisation. You will manage team leads of multiple engineering teams across frontend, backend, mobile, and quality, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

You will drive agentic development, refine the SDLC, and contribute code to tooling and developer experience while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product managers to deliver on commitments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering management.
• 2+ years managing other engineering managers or team leads.
• Working fluency in Python and TypeScript, with practical production experience.
• Experience shipping ML-powered features and integrating ML systems.
• Hands-on with agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
• Strong curiosity about AI reshaping software engineering and proactive learning.
• Proven ability to recruit, coach, and develop senior engineers and managers.
• Commercial pragmatism and ability to justify decisions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the product engineering organisation through its team leads to deliver across frontend, backend, mobile, and quality.
• Contribute code to improve agentic tooling and the SDLC, and review pull requests.
• Set and enforce high engineering standards for reviews, tests, observability, and architecture.
• Roll out agentic and spec-driven development across teams and track impact on delivery.
• Recruit, coach, and grow engineers and team leads; manage performance and development.
• Partner with product managers to plan roadmaps, manage risks, and ensure on-time delivery.
