Job Description:

Senior Engineering Manager – Can You Turn a Factory into a Force for Excellence?

You don’t just fix machines. You fix systems. You build people. You engineer progress.

We’re not just looking for someone to manage engineering—we’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of leadership, precision, and transformation.

At our modern flagship food manufacturing site in Warwickshire, we’re offering a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact Engineering team in a facility that never sleeps and always evolves. With a £2.5M engineering budget under your direction and a complex site to optimise, this is a role that demands vision, grit, and technical excellence.

Your Brief

  • Prevent chaos – Build and maintain a robust Preventive Maintenance (PM) culture that reduces downtime, waste, energy use, and complaints.
  • Lead from the floor – Inspire and coach a diverse team of engineers while remaining grounded in the day-to-day operations of a world-class food manufacturing site.
  • Push for more – Be the engine behind continuous improvement projects, CAPEX initiatives, and lean transformations that make a measurable business impact.
  • Keep it safe – Ensure absolute compliance with all H&S, Food Safety, and legal standards, because people matter.
  • Be the data – Track, trend, analyse, and act. From root cause to resolution, your decisions will be evidence-based and future-focused.

You’ll Influence

  • People: Directly lead a team of skilled engineers. Indirectly shape site-wide culture and performance through strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Performance: Reduce unplanned downtime. Optimize preventive maintenance. Improve plant KPIs. Deliver budget outcomes.
  • Projects: Manage multi-year capital investments and urgent plant upgrades alike—always on time, always to spec.

About You

  • You’ve managed an engineering function in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • You’re qualified—Degree or HND in Engineering preferred—and experienced in applying 16th/18th Edition standards, HACCP, COSHH, and FM Global guidelines.
  • You lead by example: sleeves up, data-driven, safety-first, and people-focused.
  • You think strategically but act decisively. You’re comfortable in the boardroom and on the plant floor.
  • You believe that well-led people and well-maintained systems are the heart of operational excellence.

What You’ll Get

  • A chance to shape the future of an essential manufacturing site.
  • Autonomy to make decisions with real impact.
  • Support from leadership that values innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative team culture that thrives on accountability and growth.
  • An opportunity to lead real change, not just maintain the status quo.
