Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Engineering Director for the ILIOS team based at West Burton, Nottinghamshire. You will provide senior engineering leadership, own design integrity and engineering assurance while guiding buildability across the STEP programme.

You will develop strategies for engineering, systems integration and innovation, and act as the technical authority on governance and design assurance, ensuring safe, compliant outputs across multi‑organisation teams.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in engineering or equivalent
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution
• Significant senior leadership experience across major multi-disciplinary environments
• Proven capability in leading technical functions and engineering assurance
• Strong understanding of risk, compliance, temporary works governance, constructability and safety-led design

Responsibilities

• Provide overall engineering leadership, owning design integrity, systems integration and technical innovation
• Develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures across ILIOS
• Lead engineering assurance and technical integrity while translating outputs into safe, buildable works packages
• Act as Temporary Works Designated Individual with competent appointments and assurance
• Build and develop engineering capability across ILIOS and promote collaborative ways of working
