Network Rail is seeking a Senior Engineer [Power Resilience] to strengthen the reliability and resilience of traction and High Voltage power systems across the national network. You will contribute to policy, standards, and technical guidance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address vulnerabilities and future energy challenges.

The role covers modelling, capability planning, and coordinating national resilience assessments, with responsibilities including coordinating DNO/TNO

Competenze

• Membership of a relevant technical body is desirable.
• Broad technical engineering experience across rail or energy sectors is expected.
• Experience in policy/standards development and resilience planning is valued.
• Knowledge of traction power and HV distribution systems is required.
• Chartered status or progression towards it is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage commercial, contractual and financial issues in projects.

Mansioni

• Coordinate national traction and HV resilience assessments, including vulnerability analysis and long‑term investment planning.
• Support policy, standards, and guidance for resilient traction and HV power systems.
• Contribute to modelling, load assessment, and capability planning for timetable and electrification changes.
• Assist with the introduction of new technologies for traction and HV systems.
• Interface with external energy stakeholders (DNOs/TNOs) and support future network decarbonisation efforts.
