SOCOTEC UK Ltd in Coventry is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead complex ground investigation projects within our Infrastructure division. You will plan, supervise and programme GI works across the UK, working independently and within a team.

A geotechnical degree, a full UK driving licence, and fitness for site work on active construction sites are essential. You will liaise with clients and engineers and contribute to safe, efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in geotechnical discipline (BSc or MSc).
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Fitness to undertake site-based tasks on active construction sites.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Senior Geologist to join our Coventry-based team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in geotechnical disciplines, along with extensive ground investigation experience, is essential to thrive in this position.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

• Day to day responsibility for planning, supervision and programming of Ground Investigation projects at locations throughout the United Kingdom
• Prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with the managing the Health & Safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment
• Liaise with clients / Engineers / main contractors throughout the site works phase
• Compile monthly financial project accounts and assist the GI Projects Manager in maintaining the financial performance of projects

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level in a geotechnical discipline
• Full UK driving licence
• Have a minimum level of fitness required to undertake all site based tasks listed above on a variety of sites including active construction sites and linear projects for roads and railways
• 5 - 10 years relevant site and industry experience
