Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR in the UK is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead Fuel Assembly and Control Rod technical development across the product lifecycle. You'll work at the centre of complex engineering challenges, driving design maturity and governing processes to support the Rolls-Royce SMR programme.

You will influence product strategy, engage with suppliers and stakeholders globally, and help deliver critical reactor core equipment within a multidisciplinary Engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in design, analysis, manufacture or support of nuclear core components.
• Involvement with Fuel Assemblies and Control Rod Assemblies is desirable.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle from concept to in-service support.
• Experience in regulated environments and integrated programme teams.
• Ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of Fuel Assembly and Control Rod technical solutions across the lifecycle.
• Apply specialist engineering knowledge to solve complex challenges and support design decisions.
• Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and stakeholders to meet milestones with required quality.
• Manage technical risks, assumptions and dependencies with mitigation plans.
• Maintain compliance with governance, regulatory requirements and internal processes.
• Provide technical leadership and knowledge sharing to grow capability within the team.
• Represent the component scope in reviews, customer engagements and supplier discussions.
