Job summary

Blackwell Earthmoving Limited, part of Hargreaves Services Plc., is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead earthworks activities on major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will oversee planning, QA, and site teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery to the highest standards.

You will conduct GNSS surveys, review 3D machine control models, interpret drawings with the Foreman, and maintain essential project documentation, RAMS, ITPs, and checklists, while driving rolling-wave planning and reporting

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil engineering experience with earthworks and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in site surveying and quality assurance.
• Eligible for ICE membership as a graduate and pursuing IEng.
• Experience with modern construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct GNSS-based site surveys and set out earthworks.
• Review and validate 3D machine control models.
• Interpret drawings and works information with the Foreman.
• Prepare plans, RAMS, ITPs, and checklists.
• Manage QA processes and ensure checks before work.
• Perform soil quality checks (plasticity and moisture).
• Support near-term rolling-wave planning.
• Identify and report contractual events to Commercial Team.
• Document verbal instructions with sketches.
