Job summary

Brownlee Cale Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a major civil earthworks package in the UK. You will lead setting-out, establish survey control and manage machine-control models across bulk earthworks, ensuring accuracy against design models.

You will upload and check GPS-enabled models for dozers and excavators, verify formation levels, slopes, and volumes, and maintain QA records while supporting daily production and planning with the delivery team.

Qualifications

• Experience with bulk earthworks and earthmoving processes.
• Proven machine-control experience.
• Knowledge of GPS-controlled earthmoving plant.
• Competent with surveying equipment.
• Experience with digital terrain/design models.
• Strong setting-out and as-built capability.
• Civil Engineering qualification and CSCS certification.

Responsibilities

• Set out and engineer control for bulk earthworks.
• Establish and maintain survey control.
• Prepare and manage machine-control models.
• Upload and check models for GPS-enabled equipment.
• Check formation levels, profiles, slopes and finished surfaces.
• Perform cut/fill verification and volume checks.
• Maintain QA records and support daily production planning.
• Collaborate with foremen, site agents and the delivery team.
