Job summary

Funding Circle is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Customer Auth team in London. The role focuses on building foundational security and identity platforms powering a modern distributed architecture. You’ll own authentication systems, design solutions, and collaborate with product and other engineering teams.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup (London office 2 days a week) with a strong emphasis on teaming, mentoring, and delivering secure, scalable systems for product teams across the company.

Qualifications

• Experienced in Python and distributed systems.
• Senior who can lead architectural decisions while mentoring juniors.
• Familiar with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and serverless architectures.
• Knowledgeable of Agile, TDD and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaborates across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, run and maintain authentication and authorization systems.
• Design the technical solution from product scope and deliver it.
• Work closely with Product and other engineering teams using your systems.
• Tackle greenfield work while improving older codebases.
• Collaborate actively and share knowledge with team and stakeholders.
