This consultancy delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, etc. They’re on the hunt for a contract Senior Civil Engineer for their Manchester office. This role is for one of the industry’s leading teams where they have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors of the built environment.

The role:

1. Demonstrate good development of knowledge in civil engineering and development infrastructure.
2. Have awareness of construction contracts and terms of appointment.
3. Can liaise with clients, stakeholders, local authorities, and highways officers.
4. Be fully conversant with sectional agreements such as S38, S278, etc.
5. Have awareness of business development activities and be responsible for the preparation, issue, and management of technical project information, including calculations and drawing information, in accordance with the standard requirements.
6. To have limited responsibility for technical, financial, and managerial aspects of complete projects as directed by your line manager.
7. Maintain high standards of information presentation and ensure their accuracy.

What you need to succeed:

1. Relevant degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE in Civil or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
2. Ideally Chartered or Incorporated with relevant professional body or working towards Chartership.
3. Ideally a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience.
4. Competent in relevant drawing, modelling, and experienced in the application of relevant design software.
5. Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
6. Good commercial awareness and project management skills and experience.
7. Manage continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
