Job summary
Tl Transport for London (TfL) is seeking a Senior Engineer in Built Environment to provide specialist input across projects and asset management, safeguarding safety and efficiency across asset life cycles.
The role requires professional chartered status in Buildings or related field, with ARB registration for Architects. Hybrid work is offered with 50/50 office and home balance over a 4-week cycle, and extensive benefits are included.
Qualifications
- Registered Architect or Chartered Building Surveyor/Engineer/Builder considered essential
- ARB registration required for Architect path
- Professional institution membership recommended for Built Environment disciplines
- Good knowledge of legislation, standards and practice in Built Environment
- Health, safety and environmental awareness for Built Environment
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, functionality and compliance of assets
- Lead low-complexity engineering design and governance
- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders
- On-site monitoring and risk-based surveillance of works
- Maintain knowledge of standards and design codes
- Apply solutions to improve safety and reduce costs
- Advise on technical decisions for senior management
- Support continuous improvement and root-cause analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and graduates
