Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Engineer to support delivery of highways and earthworks for access roads to the Sizewell C project, with an immediate start. The role offers exposure to one of the country's largest infrastructure schemes.

You will lead setting out, surveys, and QA processes, coordinate with design teams, and support site management to ensure works meet programme and specification. A CSCS and full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS certification.
• Experience as Senior Engineer on highways or earthworks.
• Experience delivering road infrastructure packages.
• Strong setting out and surveying skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highways and earthworks packages to programme and spec.
• Lead and supervise engineering teams and support site engineers.
• Conduct toolbox talks and liaise with clients.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.
• Manage QA documentation, ITPs and as-built records.
• Coordinate with design team and resolve technical queries.
• Support Site Agent and Project Manager with reporting.

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a Senior Engineer to help deliver highways and earthworks packages for the access roads to the Sizewell C project, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, delivering critical enabling works on a long-term programme.

Senior Engineer Responsibilities:

• Toolbox talks
• Client liaison
• Health and safety compliance
• Setting out and overseeing highways and earthworks activities
• Managing engineering teams and supporting Site Engineers
• Ensuring works are delivered on programme and to specification
• Managing QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records
• Resolving technical queries and coordinating with the design team
• Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with programme delivery and reporting
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

Senior Engineer Requirements:

• Valid CSCS
• Previous experience working as a Senior Engineer on highways, earthworks, or major civil engineering projects
• Experience delivering road construction, bulk earthworks, drainage, and infrastructure packages
• Strong setting out and surveying experience
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• IT literate
• Full UK driving licence
