Job summary

The client is seeking a Section Engineer to join a highways project in Colchester, Essex. You will provide technical and engineering support across your section, ensuring works meet programme, specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities include setting out, reviewing drawings, liaising with Site Agent and Project Manager, coordinating activities, and ensuring quality inspections and records are maintained to support the project delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer on civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction and site delivery.
• Experience working on highways, roads or infrastructure schemes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
• CSCS and relevant site-based engineering qualifications.
• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

• Identifying technical issues and working with the project team to develop effective solutions.
• Supporting the implementation of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Job description

We are currently working with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, who are looking to appoint an experienced Section Engineer to join a highways project in Colchester, Essex.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a major roundabout and highways improvement scheme, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Agent and wider site team to ensure the works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role

About You
