Job summary

Bimplus is recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major water treatment project in Leeds. The role focuses on managing site activities, setting out, QA, and coordination of subcontractors to deliver the works on time and safely.

The ideal candidate will have civil/water infrastructure experience, be proficient with surveying tools (Leica/Trimble), and capable of mentoring junior engineers. 12‑month contract with weekly payments and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to set out and maintain engineering accuracy on-site.
• Ability to produce and review QA docs, ITPs and inspection records.
• Maintain accurate site records and as-built surveys.
• Coordinate subcontractors and support the Site Agent.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical docs.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major water treatment project in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the successful delivery of a key project within the UK water sector.

The Role

• Managing and overseeing site engineering activities across the project.
• Leading setting out and ensuring engineering accuracy throughout the construction programme.
• Producing and reviewing QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
• Maintaining accurate site records, as-built surveys and engineering documentation.
• Coordinating subcontractors and supporting the Site Agent with daily site operations.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and in accordance with project requirements.
• Mentoring and supporting Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers where required.
• Assisting with planning, temporary works coordination and technical problem-solving throughout the project.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Engineer on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience delivering water treatment, wastewater treatment or utility infrastructure schemes is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, drainage, pipelines and associated civil engineering works.
• Competent in the use of Leica, Trimble or similar surveying equipment.
• SMSTS preferred.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
