Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Site or Senior Engineer in civil/groundworks
• Proficient with GPS machine control systems and AutoCAD
• CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage all technical and engineering activities across multiple residential groundworks projects
• Oversee GPS machine control models ensuring accuracy and design compliance
• Conduct earthworks verification, level checks and as-built surveys
• Manage geo-technical testing and liaise with third-party testing companies
• Liaise with clients, engineers and surveyors to resolve technical challenges
• Provide guidance on setting out, quality assurance and technical compliance
• Maintain records of testing, calibration and survey data
• Support value engineering and pre-start design input
• Mentor site engineers and supervisors
• Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to ensure project delivery

The Role Senior Engineer

Due to sustained growth across the East Midlands regions, they are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to take ownership of all technical and engineering aspects across multiple live residential groundworks sites.

This is a key role within the business providing technical leadership, ensuring quality control, and supporting site teams to deliver works safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all technical and engineering activities across multiple residential groundworks projects
• Oversee and verify GPS machine control models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications
• Conduct and record earthworks verification, level checks, and as-built surveys
• Manage and interpret geo-technical testing, compaction control and ground validation reports
• Liaise closely with Clients, Engineers, and Surveyors to resolve technical challenges
• Support project teams with setting out, quality assurance and technical compliance
• Maintain accurate records of testing, calibration, and survey data
• Assist with value engineering and design input during pre-start and early works phases
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and training for site engineers and supervisors
• Work collaboratively with commercial and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery

Experience & Requirements:

• Strong background in residential groundworks and infrastructure projects
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Site or Senior Engineer within a civil engineering or groundworks contractor
• Proficient with GPS machine control systems, surveying equipment and AutoCAD
• Excellent understanding of earthworks, levels, drainage, and foundations
• Experience managing geo-technical testing and liaising with third-party testing companies
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients and site teams
• Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree)
• CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
