Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Engineer to drive the civil and structural delivery on the Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture Scheme. You will lead engineering teams, review designs and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time and within-budget delivery of AGIs and pipeline infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee reinforced concrete works and foundations, and uphold HSE standards across the project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering major civil engineering, utilities, energy, pipeline, or infrastructure projects.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional accreditation.
• Experience within EPC or design-and-build project environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil and structural construction activities including reinforced concrete, foundations and earthworks.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to quality standards.

United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support the delivery of the landmark Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture Scheme, working closely with project teams and key stakeholders on one of the UK's most significant energy transition projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme delivering critical Above Ground Installations (AGIs), civil engineering works, and pipeline infrastructure across the North West.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of civil and structural works, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

You will provide engineering leadership across the project, overseeing reinforced concrete structures, foundations, earthworks, and associated infrastructure while supporting construction teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee civil and structural construction activities, including reinforced concrete, foundations, drainage, and associated infrastructure.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, subcontractors, and site management.
• Review engineering designs, specifications, and construction methodologies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Liaise with design teams, project stakeholders, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and interface issues.
• Monitor compliance with engineering standards, project requirements, CDM Regulations, and company HSE procedures.
• Support planning, sequencing, and coordination of construction activities.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks and construction constraints.
• Mentor and develop Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and other junior team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice across the project.

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering major civil engineering, utilities, energy, pipeline, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, foundations, earthworks, and civil infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach to project delivery.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working on major energy, carbon capture, pipeline, utilities, or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional accreditation.
• Experience within EPC or design-and-build project environments.
