An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Security, Policing & Enforcement (SPE) as the Senior Enforcement Standards Manager during a significant period of organisational development and transformation.
Reporting to the Head of Performance, Planning & Standards, this influential leadership role is responsible for shaping and strengthening the professional standard framework that governs enforcement and professional activity. The role provides strategic leadership and organisational oversight for enforcement professionals, ensuring enforcement powers are exercised lawfully, ethically, consistently and in a manner that maintains public trust and confidence.
Leading a specialist team, the successful candidate will develop and embed professional standards, assurance and governance frameworks that support operational effectiveness while reducing organisational, legal and reputational risk. Working closely with senior leaders, operational managers, policing partners, trade unions and other key stakeholders, the postholder will ensure that professional standards remain aligned to legislation, best practice and evolving organisational priorities.
This is a unique opportunity to influence how enforcement is delivered across one of the world's largest and most complex transport networks.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance for the role (currently Non‑Police Personnel Vetting Level 1 (NPPV1). Applicants do not need to hold current clearance but must be eligible to obtain it.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and aim to reflect the diverse communities we serve. We believe that a diverse workforce enables us to deliver better services and outcomes. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. As a Disability Confident Leader, we actively encourage applications from disabled people. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, we aim to offer an assessment or interview to candidates who apply via the scheme where the minimum essential criteria for skills, knowledge and experience has been met. In some circumstances, it may not be practical to offer an interview or assessment to every candidate who applies through the scheme and meet the minimum essential criteria; in these situations, we select candidates who best meet the minimum criteria for the job rather than interviewing all who meet them.
Across all recruitment activity, we recognise that selection methods may vary depending on the nature and scale of the campaign and will be applied fairly, consistently and proportionately in line with our Disability Confident commitments.
We also use anonymising software that removes identifying information from CVs and cover letters to make the process fair.
As a fixed term contractor we can offer you a choice of pension arrangements. If you choose not to take our final salary pension scheme you will be paid an allowance on top of your salary, subject to Tax and National Insurance. We will share all the details with you at offer stage and the choice will be yours based on your circumstances. Depending on what you choose you can add up-to 14% to your salary.
