Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Specialist Actuary for Energy Liability in London. You will support the pricing team and underwriters, influencing loss ratio insights and pricing strategies across the Energy Liability portfolio.

You will work with actuarial and underwriting leadership, drive pricing consistency, and contribute to planning, metrics, and portfolio analyses while mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of non-life insurance pricing.
• Qualification level – a mathematical, scientific or economics-based degree.
• Relevant work experience in a statistical or analytical role.
• Qualified actuary or progress towards attaining actuarial accreditation.
• Compelling technical skills in R, Excel, SQL, Python, VBA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support the Energy Liability pricing team and the underwriters in London.
• Assist the Actuary leading the Energy Liability portfolio to maintain and improve pricing view of loss ratios.
• Drive consistency in pricing and portfolio analysis across Energy Liability.
• Training of underwriters in pricing matters and support pricing accounts, including portfolio deals.
• Gathering local underwriting data and analytics needs and problems.
