Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Consultant .
In this role, you'll help organisations cut carbon, improve energy efficiency, and meet Net Zero goals. You’ll conduct site audits, develop technical solutions, and lead projects focused on energy performance and low-carbon technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out energy audits and site surveys across commercial, industrial, and public sector properties.
Identify opportunities to improve energy performance and reduce carbon emissions through practical, cost-effective measures.
Develop feasibility studies and technical reports covering low carbon technologies such as solar PV, heat pumps, energy storage, metering and monitoring, CHP, BMS and LED retrofits.
Provide strategic advice on achieving Net Zero targets and complying with energy-related legislation.
Use modelling and analysis tools to support the design and evaluation of energy systems.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
Delivery of training and awareness courses relating to core disciplines.
Keep up to date with relevant energy policies, grants, and funding opportunities
Manage multiple projects from concept through to implementation
What we’re looking for:
Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in energy consultancy or building services
Strong technical knowledge of energy systems and decarbonisation
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Full UK driving licence
– company car provided
Desirable Attributes
Chartered or working toward professional registration (e.g. CEng, Ieng, Energy Institute, CIBSE).
Familiarity with public sector energy frameworks and carbon reporting standards.
Knowledge of funding routes such as Salix, PSDS, or Local Energy Hubs.
Experience with energy modelling software and BMS systems.
