Job summary

8x8 is seeking a Sr. Endpoint & Security Engineer based full-time in our London office to own our endpoint security stack globally and to be the on-site technical presence for the London team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum 6 years experience in endpoint engineering or endpoint security, with senior-level ownership.
• Hands-on MDM experience at scale (1,000+ devices) using Addigy, Jamf, Intune, or equivalent.
• Endpoint security policy design experience across DLP, patching, OS hardening, and application control.
• Working knowledge of EDR/XDR platforms (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Defender for Endpoint).
• Working knowledge of ZTNA and Zero Trust access.

Responsibilities

• Own MDM strategy and configuration across MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android, including baselines and hardening.
• Own work app isolation and BYOD data-containment model, including selection, deployment, and support.
• Own ZTNA client rollout and endpoint compliance posture as a gate for network access.
• Own endpoint security policy: DLP, patching cadence, OS hardening, app control, USB controls.
• Laptop backup coverage, policy, and recovery testing.
• Partner with Security team on EDR/XDR endpoint tuning and incident triage.
• Produce SOC 2 and ISO 27001 evidence for endpoint controls during audits.
• Provide walk-up and desk-side support for London office; manage provisioning and AV checks.

This is a global engineering + local IT Site Support role. Your time will be split roughly evenly between two focuses:

Engineering focus (global scope):

You are the SME and service owner for endpoint security, MDM, ZeroTrust access, work app isolation, DLP, and endpoint hardening across the enterprise. You own the how, why, strategy, processes, measurement, and Tier 3/4 support for these services.

Site IT Support (London office)

You are the walk-up technical presence for our London office. You handle device provisioning, AV, asset management, and general on-site support.

What You' ll Do:

Your mission: Research, select, deploy, and operationalize the tooling that will carry us forward across MDM, work app isolation, Zero Trust access, DLP, and device hardening.

Endpoint Security Engineering (Global)

• Own MDM strategy and configuration across MacOS and Windows (corporate endpoints) as well as iOS and Android (BYOD). Includes compliance baselines, hardening, and self-service app delivery.
• Own the work app isolation and BYOD data-containment model. You'll evaluate, select, deploy, optimize, and support the chosen platform.
• Own the ZTNA client rollout and endpoint compliance posture as a real gate for network access.
• Own endpoint security policy: DLP, patching cadence, OS hardening, application control, USB and removable media controls.
• Own laptop backup coverage, policy, and periodic recovery testing.
• Partner with 8x8's Security team on EDR/XDR endpoint tuning and incident triage.
• Produce SOC 2 and ISO 27001 evidence for endpoint controls during audit cycles.

London Site Support

• Provide walk-up and desk-side support for London office employees.
• Own device provisioning at the London office: new-hire builds, onboarding training, refresh, and secure retirement.
• Own AV and meeting-room technology checks in the London office.
• Own local asset management: receiving, tagging, stock control, and end-of-life disposal in line with policy.
• Provide on-site technical support for events and executive visits hosted in the London office.
• Coordinate with other Site Technical Leads on site coverage, escalations, and cross-office standards.

AI-Augmented Way of Working

• Use 8x8's approved AI tools (Google Gemini, Claude, AI Studio) to accelerate your own work, from policy documentation to telemetry analysis to script drafting.
• Identify AI-driven automation opportunities across endpoint operations.
• Share what works with the broader IT team and help colleagues build their own AI fluency.

What We're Looking For:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum 6 years experience in endpoint engineering or endpoint security, with clear senior-level ownership in recent roles.
• Hands-on MDM experience at scale (1,000+ devices) using Addigy, Jamf, Intune, or equivalent.
• Endpoint security policy design experience across DLP, patching, OS hardening, and application control.
• Working knowledge of EDR/XDR platforms (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint), including deployment, tuning, and incident triage.
• Working knowledge of ZTNA and Zero Trust access. You can explain the endpoint-to-identity policy chain in plain terms.
• Genuine openness and enthusiasm for AI tools. We will grow you into our AI-first approach; you bring the curiosity.
• Customer service instinct. You're the person a stressed colleague walks up to. You triage calmly, solve what you can, and route what you can't.
• The ability to work and think independently, take initiative, and be effective with or without detailed work direction.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 kg (approx. 45 lb) around the London office as part of provisioning, AV, and refresh work.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience with work app isolation or BYOD platforms (Venn Blue Border, Ivanti / MobileIron, or comparable) and data-containment policy design.
• Familiarity with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID sufficient to partner with our IAM engineers on conditional access.
• Prior experience producing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence for endpoint controls.
• Experience with laptop backup platforms (Druva or comparable) and periodic recovery testing.
• Corporate AV and meeting-room experience (Zoom Rooms, Google Meet Series One, Poly, Logitech) sufficient that you know AV troubleshooting is usually a cable, not a mystery.
