Job summary
Nexos Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior EMS & Controls Consultant to lead front-end engineering studies and provide technical advisory across energy projects.
You will define control philosophies for microgrids integrating BESS, Solar PV, EV charging, HVAC and BMS to ensure efficient, resilient operations and commercial value.
You will translate client requirements into practical, scalable solutions, supporting business development with technical validation and bid support.
Qualifications
- Degree in Automation, Electrical or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years with EMS platforms, microgrid controllers, SCADA, PLCs/RTUs
- Strong knowledge of BESS, Solar PV, EV charging and standby generation
- Experience integrating EMS with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Familiarity with BS, IEC standards and industrial automation
Responsibilities
- Lead FEED studies and paid consultancy engagements for industrial clients
- Define EMS architectures for multi-asset microgrids
- Translate client goals into practical, scalable control strategies
- Develop control philosophies, FDS, and sequence of operations
- Define EMS interfaces with BMS and other building controls
- Map data points between EMS, BESS, Solar PV, EV charging and HVAC
- Support business development with technical validation and bids
- Ensure compliance with BS/IEC standards
