Herrington Carmichael LLP is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its expanding Employment Team. The role involves managing a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters while supporting junior lawyers and driving growth.

You will work alongside highly ranked Partners, contribute to business development, and benefit from hybrid working arrangements designed to balance client service with professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' PQE in an Employment team.
• Experience advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers and trainees.
• Proven track record of building client relationships and business development.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent client care and communication.
• Commercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solving.
• Ability to work autonomously yet be a collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Advise employers and senior employees on the full spectrum of employment law matters.
• Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious work.
• Draft contracts, policies, procedures and settlement agreements.
• Provide corporate support on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring projects and TUPE matters.
• Manage Employment Tribunal claims from inception through to hearing.
• Act as a trusted adviser to clients, developing long-term relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional support across the firm.
• Support and supervise junior solicitors, trainees and paralegals, helping to develop technical expertise and confidence within the team.
• Take ownership of complex client matters and provide guidance to junior team members on day-to-day issues.
• Play a leading role in business development, networking, marketing initiatives, seminars and client training programmes.
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the Employment Team through client relationship management and new business generation.
• Work closely with Partners to further enhance the team's market profile and reputation.
