Job summary

Together is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Employment Law to join the People team on a part-time basis for 3 days a week in the UK. You will advise HR, People Leaders and senior stakeholders on employment-law matters, balancing risk with commercial aims to sustain a positive workplace culture.

The role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on support for employee relations, tribunals, organisational changes and policy development, while delivering leadership training and practical

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and tribunals.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex employee relations matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to deliver clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
• Desirable: experience within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Desirable: knowledge of data protection issues relating to employment matters.
• Desirable: experience supporting organisational change and restructuring.
• Desirable: exposure to reward, executive governance matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert employment law advice across employee relations, performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance issues; redundancies, restructures and exits.
• Manage employment disputes and tribunal claims, with external counsel where required.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation by monitoring developments and updating policy/procedures.
• Support strategic initiatives including restructures, acquisitions and workforce planning with HR and leaders.
• Deliver practical employment law training and build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
