Job summary

Clyde & Co in Manchester is seeking a proactive Employment Associate to join our Employment & Pensions team. This hands-on role covers the full spectrum of employment law, including advisory work, litigation support, and involvement in corporate transactions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Employment Tribunal litigation, drafting, and client liaison, with a drive to develop business and contribute to thought leadership while balancing a busy caseload with colleagues across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or assisting with Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings and witness statements.
• Commercially focused day-to-day employment law advice across disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE and contracts.
• Exposure to employment aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and service agreements.
• Confident in liaising with clients with a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach.
• Strong drafting skills for client communications, advice notes and contracts.
• Willingness to engage in networking and thought leadership to grow the practice.
• Ability to balance a busy caseload across litigation and advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Handle a range of employment matters including tribunal work and advisory assignments.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship management.
• Assist in corporate transactions with employment provisions and due diligence.
• Draft client communications, contracts and policies.
• Collaborate with other teams to support cross-border and multi‑disciplinary work.
