Job summary

TfGM Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Employee Relations and Policy Manager to lead our centre of excellence for employee relations, people policy and trade union engagement. This senior role blends oversight of high-risk casework with policy governance and compliance.

You will develop and lead a team of Senior People Advisors, maintain strong relations with unions, and improve case-management processes to ensure fair, lawful decisions that support organisational improvement.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in employee relations, employment policy or industrial relations.
• Expert knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance and equality obligations.
• Proven track record leading complex and high-risk cases and developing organisation-wide People policies.
• Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent professional qualification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Senior People Advisors and People Advisors, setting standards for casework quality and consistency.
• Oversee the case portfolio and intervene in the most complex, sensitive or precedent-setting matters.
• Own TfGM's People policy framework, review programme and governance with unions.
• Build constructive relationships with recognised trade unions and drive process improvements.
