Job summary

TfGM is seeking an Employee Relations and Policy Manager to lead the centre of excellence for employee relations, policy and trade union engagement. This senior, hands-on role combines oversight of complex casework with policy governance and employment-law compliance.

You will lead a team of Senior People Advisors and People Advisors, build strong trade union relationships, improve case-management processes, and ensure policies remain fair, practical and legally sound.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in employee relations or industrial relations.
• Current knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance.
• Chartered CIPD membership, or an equivalent recognised professional qualification, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Senior People Advisors and People Advisors.
• Oversee complex and high-risk casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance, dignity-at-work and whistleblowing.
• Own TfGM's People policy framework and review programme, build relationships with recognised trade unions and improve case-management processes.
• Provide clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders and shape governance to drive improvement.
