Salary: £29,000 - £39,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. London weighting may be applicable for this role.

Job Introduction
Manager Advice is looking for x2 Fixed Term Contract Senior Employee Relations Advisors to join our team. We are a dedicated team offering counsel and support to BBC Managers on matters related to employee relations. You'll serve as the first point of call, addressing a comprehensive array of topics such as DC&G, Health & wellbeing, FTC, Leave, and family matters.
Main Responsibilities
The Role Will
- Perform an advisory/support role in a specialist team and provide this to BBC Managers, including Senior level.
- Use specialist knowledge, data systems and follow clearly defined processes in order to deliver HR services to an agreed SLA.
- Often deliver pre-defined pieces of work, as well as having to answer ad hoc specialist requests as part of a wider specialist team.
- Require Advisors to work independently to resolve complex queries but will also work in partnership as part of a wider specialist team to manage more complex issues and projects.
- Be predominantly a case management role delivered by telephone/on-line, however, you’ll also be involved with delivering training and projects as required.
- Require travel to attend sites throughout the UK for regular weekly and ad hoc meetings.
- Require Senior Advisors deal with complex cases, up to and including ending of contracts where required.
Are you the right candidate?
As a Senior Advisor You Will Need To
- Have excellent up to date knowledge of UK Employment Law – including Northern Ireland
- Be able to demonstrate experience of managing a large caseload including complex cases up to and including dismissal across a full range of ER matters.
- Be used to delivering presentations to Managers and colleagues across an organisation, ideally on company policy and HR related matters.
- Be a team player, and be comfortable in covering colleagues cases in their absence and actively supporting other Advisors’ development.
- Have previous experience using the full Microsoft Office suite, and data bases or Case Management software – recording all activities and actions on cases to ensure a full audit trail.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, to enable you to quickly build relationships with Managers, Business Partners and key stakeholders to ensure a timely resolution to issues, whilst working remotely and on-site.
- Have empathy, pragmatism and creativity to enable you to see all sides of a situation and seek an appropriate tailored resolution within policy, law and precedent.
Desirable
- Fluency in written and oral Welsh is desirable but not essential.
