Job summary

Sussex Community is seeking Emergency Care Practitioners/Emergency Nurse Practitioners to join the Minor Injury Units at Crowborough and Uckfield. The role provides clinical and professional leadership, ensuring governance, staff competence, and exceptional patient experience across sites.

The post holder will drive development of the Minor Injuries Unit, contribute to education and training, and act as a pro-active role model for clinical and managerial standards within the nurse professional

Qualifications

• RN with current live PIN on NMC or HCPC
• Post Registration qualification or training to masters level or equivalent
• Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses / CPD and reflective practice
• Experience in autonomous practice role
• Leadership and management experience
• Non medical prescriber
• Minor ailments module

Responsibilities

• Accountable for direct delivery of care in Minor Injuries Unit; assess, request and interpret radiographs; diagnose, treat and discharge or refer
• Maintain high standards of nursing care; lead and participate in nursing and clinical audit
• Manage the Unit; monitor sickness, manage resources (human and material)
• Ensure local standards/policies promote patient-centered, evidence-based care; undertake annual training needs analysis with Clinical Lead
• Promote evidence-based innovative nursing practice and support changes to improve care
• Ensure medical and emergency equipment is safe, checked, and available; report faulty equipment
• Develop understanding of delegated budget and participate in ordering supplies within budget
