Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the Same Day Emergency Care team. The post focuses on autonomous clinical practice within an established educational programme, managing undifferentiated patients across the SDEC scope.

The role emphasizes 80% clinical activity and 20% supportive/educational work, with opportunities for MSc-level development and clinical supervision from Emergency Medicine consultants.

Qualifications

• Professional registration with either NMC or HCPC.
• Evidence of BSc level education, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
• Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced clinical care in Same Day Emergency Care with autonomy and supervision as required.
• Assess and manage undifferentiated patients in SDEC and determine appropriate care pathways.
• Discharge planning and timely decision making in line with national guidelines.
