Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the Emergency General Surgical team at Salford. The role focuses on autonomously assessing and managing emergency surgical patients and supporting Same Day Emergency Care referrals from GPs and NWAS.

It is a permanent part-time position (22.5 hours/week). An MSc in Advanced Practice is essential, though newly qualified ACPs are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

MSc in Advanced Practice is essential.
V300 non-medical prescribing qualification is required/advantageous.
Experience as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in general surgery emergency care.
Able to work independently and autonomously.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Autonomously assess, investigate and manage emergency surgical patients.
Support Same Day Emergency Care referrals from GPs and NWAS.
Manage a diverse clinical caseload with patient-centered care.
Build tailored management plans addressing current issues and preventing future admissions.
Apply sound clinical reasoning and risk management to avoid admissions.
Monitor patients on ambulatory pathways.
Contribute to innovative pathway development across secondary and primary care.
