Job summary

Fractile is hiring an embedded systems engineer in London to design firmware and services for rack and board management, spanning RTOS and bare metal. You will implement critical flows for provisioning, monitoring, updates and security, and work closely with hardware and software teams to ensure end-to-end reliability.

The role emphasizes C/Rust expertise, a reliability-first mindset, and collaboration across HW, drivers, and runtime libraries to deliver robust systems for large-scale inference

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production-critical embedded systems across bare metal, RTOS, or embedded Linux.
• Proficient in C and/or Rust with strong safety, testing, and debugging practices.
• Reliability-first mindset with observability and diagnosability in design.
• Comfort near hardware/software boundary with HW driver/runtime collaboration.
• 3+ years of industry experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware and services for management controllers (RTOS/bare metal).
• Build systems software for rack/board management from bring-up to production.
• Ensure health flows: power, provisioning, monitoring, updates, security.
• Integrate with host/device stack; validate interfaces and debug boundary issues.
• Collaborate with HW and device software teams to define interfaces.
