Holt Executive Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an established engineering organisation developing complex, highly regulated systems. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, designing and maintaining real-time embedded software and supporting system integration and customer-facing activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience developing C/C++ real-time embedded software.
• Good understanding of embedded hardware.
• Experience developing user interfaces.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing existing software.
• Experience with RS-232, RS-422, UART, TCP/IP and UDP.

Responsibilities

• Develop software from requirements and design through to coding, integration and testing.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ real-time embedded software.
• Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
• Maintain software requirements, technical issues and documentation.
• Develop robust software with a focus on fault management, reporting and system health.
• Support customer integration, commissioning and problem resolution.
• Contribute to system requirements, technical decisions and project planning.
• Identify and manage technical risks and provide input to project reviews.

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join an established engineering organisation developing complex systems for highly regulated applications.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing and maintaining real-time embedded software while supporting system integration, commissioning and customer-facing technical activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software from requirements and design through to coding, integration and testing.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ real-time embedded software.
• Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
• Maintain software requirements, technical issues and documentation.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• VxWorks or another RTOS.
• C#/.NET and Windows application development.
